INTRODUCTION
Education is a fundamental aspect for a country’s development. Through qualified education, competence generation that required to build our country will be born. Every effort should be conducted to enhance our country’s educational quality. This is related to welfare improvement, and the arrival of competitive globalization era. Globalization era requires improvement on science and technology empowering, and foreign language (such as english) mastering.
Getting a proper and qualified education is everyone’s desire. But, there are so many people experiencing difficulties in accessing those qualified education, either due to financial reasons, lack of preparation, or even inability to obtain information. On the other hand, there are institutions both domestic and abroad, available provide scholarship, but the information couldn’t be reached by most those who need it.
To continue study abroad is everyone’s dream. One of the requirements to study abroad is English language mastering that can be measured by standard methods such as Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) score. English language mastering is needed in the globalization era. For that reason cooperation between all stakeholders is needed to increase English proficiency on our daily life, especially for English teachers and Indonesian students.
In international society, understanding culture of others is needed in order to build a world living in harmony. Therefore in this festival will be presented cultural and art performance from different countries will be performed by international students.
Based on those consideration, that Student Executive Board of IPB (BEM KM IPB) and co organized by Student Activities Units: IAAS (International Association of students in Agriculture and Related Sciences), IDC (IPB Debating Community), and FORCES (Forum for Scientific Studies) of IPB will be deliver an event titled “International Scholarship Education Expo”.
This event consists of a sequence of activities including expo (Exhibitions), Seminars, Talk-show, Workshop, and cultural festival. Theme of the event is, “Study Abroad: It's More Than Just Education”.
DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT
This International Scholarship Education Expo (ISEE) will be held on three days. Complete description of this event is as following:
Expo and Presentation
This event is the main program of International Scholarship Education Expo. Stands will be allocated to participants who are expected coming from foreign embassies and educational institution, especially those offering scholarship information for undergraduate student and post graduate student as well. Main targets of this expo are senior high school, undergraduate students, graduate students, as well as teachers, lectures, and also open for public. By this event, it is expected that scholarship information will be available.
Seminar
This seminar hold based on this event theme which is “Go Abroad: It’s More Than Just An Education”. The first session will discuss about “Strategies To Goal Scholarship” while the second session will discuss about “How to Survive in Foreign Country?”. This seminar will be arrange in internationl scale, and invite competence speaker in the international level.
Workshop
The theme of this workshop is “How To Compose An English Scientific Paper”. The trainer will give attendances a simulation by dividing them become maximum 50 persons into to two lines, which are line 1 : Project Proposal dan line 2 : Journal. Target of this workshop is college students that want to explore their compentency in composing a proposal to get scholarship, and also other students that want to practice on making scientific papers.
Cultural Festival
In international relationship we could not separate between society and their cultures. Because of that we plan to show variety of cultures in one event called Cultural Festival. There will be cultural performance from international students who studying in Indonesia.
